Carob powder is free from gluten, caffeine, dairy, Theobromine (Theobromine is a chemical compound found in milk chocolate that is like caffeine and is an alkaloid and stimulant). Carob contains Manganese, Potassium, Magnesium, Zinc, Selenium, Calcium (twice the amount of calcium compared to cocoa). Compared to cocoa powder, carob powder has slightly less fat and fewer kilojoules making carob a great dietary cocoa chocolate substitution.
